About Me
In 2008, I started doing freelance photography. Consecutively, by the end of 2008, I started working as an assistant director for famous Bangladeshi film director and producer Redoan Rony. I worked for several TV dramas under his supervision when I finally got the courage and expertise to make my first short film in 2010. My first short film, "Shikol-The Chain," got selected for the International Inter-University Film Festival, and I think that was the moment I became serious about making even more short films since I realized that I should keep doing things that I am good at and capable of. It was a huge encouragement moment for me to get selected among hundreds of films in a film festival. I kept making short films and made my first TV drama ''Oshomo Prem=?" which aired in 2011 for the Bangladeshi channel RTV and was praised by audiences. "Boyosh," "Bojha," "Rani's Story," "Highway to Hell," and "Love 360" are my notable short film works among many that got recognition among critics. My productivity peaked since I did all this work while I was still doing my bachelor studies. But as you know, nothing beautiful comes easy, and that kept me going. In 2015, I also directed my first TV serial, "Ctrl+Alt+Delete."
After graduation, I started doing jobs as an architect, changed a few only to find out that my focus and goal were not to make buildings but films. Therefore, I focused solely on my passion for filmmaking and media-related work. Some of my remarkable job posts from 2015 to 2019 are working as an intern Assistant Producer at Jamuna Television channel, Creative Associate Director for Brand Vent Communication, Head of Program at Hernet TV, Head of Media Production at Naveed Mahbub Inc. for shows that aired in ATN Bangla (Bangladesh and UK).
Besides being placed in my jobs, I also established myself as an entrepreneur. I founded my production house, "4D Films," in 2010, which is still running. Additionally, I have started my Advertising Agency, IconicFocus.com, in 2020. I created employment for several people who are interested and determined about filmmaking and media directional work, just like me, but could not get the exposure I luckily got from the beginning. Even after making little to no profit, I have pledged to run my small business because these zealous people can passionately work for my dreams even when I am not present.
No matter how good we are at something, we will do our best in every sector if we have the formal theoretical training that helps us enhance practical work. Therefore, I completed my Post Graduate Diploma in Film and Television at the University of Dhaka and earned a GPA of 3.80 out of 4.00 scale. I believe there is no end to learning, and I decided to continue my master's degree in the same field. As the famous filmmaker Danny Boyle says, "To be a filmmaker, you have to be psychotic in your desire to do something. People always like the easy route. You have to push very hard to get something different".
